Location: Sippy Downs, Sunshine Coast, QLD
Duration: 3 days
Team: 3-person crew
Green waste: Approximately 30m³, 6 full 5 × 8 trailer loads
Service: Big property clean-up: plant removal, pruning, weeding, lawn mowing, garden edging, mulching and a full property tidy
Outcome: A clean, open and easy-to-maintain property ready for market
Preparing a property for sale doesn’t always mean adding more landscaping.
For this Sippy Downs home, years of growth had hidden parts of the property, making it look less appealing and harder to maintain.
We tidied the entire property, leaving it neat, open and ready for market.
The owners were preparing this Sippy Downs property for sale.
It had features buyers would value:
A swimming pool overlooking the lake.
A large front yard.
Established gardens.
A spacious backyard.
But years of garden growth were hiding those features:
❌ Old shrubs and crowded garden beds made the front yard look messy.
❌ Overgrown plants made the backyard and pool area look smaller.
❌ The lawn & pool looked less appealing.
❌ The lake view was hiding
❌ The property looked like a lot of work to maintain.

A property going on the market needs to present well, but it’s about more than simply cutting everything back.
We needed to decide:
Which established plants were adding value to the property.
Which plants had become too large or untidy for their location.
Where pruning would be enough.
Where complete removal would create a better result.
How to make the garden look presentable without overspending before the sale.
The goal was to remove the mess, reveal the property’s best features and leave buyers with a garden that felt easy to manage.

Removed old and unwanted plants.
Pruned overgrown trees, palms and shrubs.
Cleared and simplified the front and backyard gardens.
Weeded and reshaped the garden beds.
Installed cost-effective plastic garden edging.
Added fresh mulch.
Removed approximately 30m³ of green waste.
We removed plants that were no longer adding value, including those that had become too large, woody or crowded for the areas where they were growing.
This opened up the front of the home, reduced future maintenance and gave the remaining plants more room to grow.

At the front of the property, we:
Removed old and unwanted growth.
Pruned the plants worth keeping.
Opened up the crowded garden beds.
Created a simple garden bed near the letterbox.
Installed practical edging for a clean, defined finish.
The edging wasn’t just for appearance.
It helps keep the mulch contained and makes mowing around the garden bed easier, without the cost of a larger landscaping project immediately before the sale.
We Weeded and Mulched the Garden Beds
Once the unwanted growth was removed, we weeded the beds and added fresh mulch.
The mulch gave the property a clean, consistent finish while also helping to:
Suppress weeds.
Retain soil moisture.
Keep the gardens easier to manage during the sale campaign.
It wasn’t added simply for the photos.
It helped the garden stay presentable after we left.

The backyard already had several strong features:
a swimming pool overlooking the lake.
a large backyard.
established tropical gardens.
However, the overgrown garden was making these areas look smaller and harder to maintain. So we
pruned the palms, trees and established plants around the pool
removed excess growth
retained the plants that still provided privacy and character
This created:
A more presentable front yard
A cleaner, more spacious pool area
An open and easy-to-maintain backyard
The existing features were always there. The garden clean-up simply made them easier to see and enjoy.

The lawns were mown, the edges were tidied and all green waste created by the work was removed.
By the time we finished, approximately 30m³ of green waste had been taken awaym the equivalent of around 6 full trailer loads.
When preparing a garden for sale, more plants don’t necessarily create more value.
We want buyers to be able to see:
The inviting front yard
The beautiful home
The lake view
The clean backyard
How easily the property could be maintained.
An overcrowded garden can make a property feel smaller and leave buyers mentally adding up the work ahead of them.
Removing the right plants and opening up the garden allowed the home and outdoor areas to become the focus again.
The garden was still green and established, but it no longer felt like an overdue gardening project.

After 3 days, the property felt completely different.
The owners now had:
A cleaner and more visible front entrance.
Better street presentation.
Open, defined garden beds.
A brighter pool area.
More visible lawn and outdoor space.
A garden that felt easier to maintain.
A property ready for photography, inspections and sale.

A major yard tidy-up gets the property back under control. Regular garden maintenance keeps it that way.
For properties on the market, the job doesn’t end after the initial clean-up. Gardens keep growing during a 4-to-8-week sale campaign.
Regular maintenance keeps the property neat and presentable before open homes, helping it stay photo-ready until the contract is signed.
For properties that aren’t being sold, moving onto a regular schedule helps prevent the garden from gradually building towards another expensive and time-consuming clean-up.
Depending on the property, ongoing maintenance may include:
Lawn mowing and edging
Pruning
Hedge trimming
Weeding and weed treatment
Palm and garden debris removal
Seasonal garden tidy-ups
Green waste removal

Big gardens worry people for one reason:
“How much is this going to blow out?”
We price these properly upfront because, based on experience, we know:
✅ how much green waste needs to be removed
✅ how much mulch it takes
✅ how long it actually takes to finish
So you get a clear outcome, not a running bill.
Sippy Downs has many established suburban homes with palms, tropical plants, pools and large gardens.
During the Sunshine Coast’s warm, wet growing season, these gardens can become overgrown quickly when regular pruning and weeding fall behind.
This property is a good example.
It needed a thorough garden clean-up that kept the best parts, removed what was no longer working and made it easier for buyers to imagine living there.
Yes. We can clear overgrowth, remove unsuitable plants, prune established gardens, weed, mow, add edging or mulch and remove the resulting green waste.
The aim is to leave the property clean, cared for and ready for buyers to see its true value.
Not necessarily.
If the existing garden is crowded or overgrown, removing and reshaping plants may create a better result than adding more. We look at what will improve the presentation without creating unnecessary costs or additional maintenance.
Yes. A garden clean-up doesn’t mean removing everything.
Where practical, we retain established plants that suit the property and prune or clear around them. Plants that are dead, badly overgrown or no longer suited to the space may be better removed.
Fresh mulch gives garden beds a clean finish. It also helps suppress weeds and retain soil moisture.
Mulch makes the garden easier to manage and helps it stay presentable throughout the sale campaign.
Yes. Green waste created by the agreed work is loaded, removed and disposed of as part of the project.
This Sippy Downs garden clean-up produced approximately 30m³ of green waste.
It depends on:
✅ The size of the property.
✅ The amount of overgrowth.
✅ Access to the property.
✅ The work required.
✅ How much green waste needs to be removed.
This whole-property garden clean-up took a 3-person crew approximately 3 days.
Yes. Whether you’re putting your property on the market or staying in your home, regular garden maintenance is the natural next step after a big clean-up.
For properties on the market, regular maintenance helps keep the garden looking its best for inspections.
For homes not being sold, regular mowing, edging, pruning, weeding and general garden care keep the property neat throughout the year so it doesn’t become overwhelming again.
The price depends on
✅ how overgrown the property is
✅ what work is required
✅ how much green waste needs to be removed.
Our garden clean-ups generally range from approximately $1,500 for a smaller clean-up to $15,000 for a major property clean-up or garden reset.
We inspect the property and provide a clear fixed-price quote based on the actual scope of work.
