βRain kept washing the garden in the pool.β
Kathy in Sippy Downs reached out to Lawns. Gardens. Gutters. Buderim about her back garden around the pool.
It had become hard to manage, especially after rain.
The main issues:
Golden Cane palms constantly dropping leaves into the pool
Overhanging stems reaching over the pool and into the neighbourβs yard
Rain washing soil and debris straight into the pool
Weeds pushing through older rock areas
It wasnβt just how it looked.
It was the constant clean-up after every big rain.

This wasnβt about a quick tidy-up.
The goal was to reset the space so it stayed clean and manageable.
We focused on three things:
Pruning properly: thinning the Golden Canes and removing overhang
Containing the garden: installing 100mm steel edging
Stabilising the surface: applying a thick layer of mulch
Safety was also a key part of the plan.
Around the pool, the edging was designed with no exposed sharp corners, finishing cleanly out of sight so kids could move around safely.

Cleared overgrowth and opened up the space
Pruned Golden Canes to remove βfluffβ and overhang
Installed 100mm steel edging with concealed, safe corners
Defined the palm area with edging and decorative pebbles
Applied ~80mm thick mulch to suppress weeds and reduce wash-off
Full clean-up and blow down
All green waste removed

The difference showed straight away.
After the next heavy rain:
No debris washing into the pool
No constant clean-up required
Garden stayed contained and tidy
Kathy was especially happy with how easy the space is now to manage.
The area now feels:
Clean and open
Safer around the pool
Simple to maintain

Completed in one day.

A big reset like this sets the foundation.
From here, keeping the whole property neat and easy comes down to regular maintenance β not just around the pool, but across the entire yard.
Ongoing maintenance typically includes:
Lawn mowing with clean, sharp edging
Palm fronds and debris removed before they become a problem
Hedges trimmed to keep things under control
Gardens kept tidy and manageable
Full clean-up and blow down each visit
Most clients move onto a Regular Schedule after a Clean-up so the garden never gets back to that βout of controlβ stage.

It usually comes down to containment and pruning.
Removing overhang, installing proper edging, and stabilising soil with mulch makes a big difference.

This project was completed in Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast.
Many properties in Sippy Downs have established gardens with palms, rock features, and poolside areas.
Over time, these can become hard to manage, especially when overgrowth, falling palm debris, and heavy rain start pushing soil and leaves into the pool.
A proper garden reset, with controlled pruning, defined edging, and a solid mulch base, helps keep these spaces clean, contained, and much easier to maintain year round.
We regularly provide garden clean-ups, lawn mowing, and ongoing garden maintenance in Sippy Downs, Buderim, Mountain Creek and nearby suburbs.

Save you time, reduce stress, and keep your property looking its best β without you lifting a finger.
